GOLAGHAT: The North Eastern Tea Association (NETA) has appealed to the Government of Assam to urgently organize vaccination camps in tea estates. In a letter to the Principal Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department, Samir Kumar Sinha, and separate letters to all deputy commissioners, NETA has urged them to protect the tea garden population from the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic by way of organizing vaccination camps urgently in tea gardens. Two tea estates in the Dibrugarh district has been declared a containment zone recently. Last year tea gardens did not face such a problem as this year. Therefore, before things go beyond control, setting up vaccination camps in tea gardens are of utmost importance at this hour. Through a release, the NETA has assured to fully co-operate with the Government in organizing the vaccination camps.
