New Bathou Temple Inside Ultapani Reserve Forest Inaugurated

Kokrajhar: The managing director of MRM Memorial Hospital of Kokrajhar, Seuli Mohilary ceremonially inaugurated the newly constructed Bathou (Shiva) temple at Ultapani near the Indo-Bhutan border deep inside Ultapani reserve forest in Kokrajhar.

The new temple was constructed with the donation of Seuli Mohilary. Being follower of Bathou, she dedicated the new temple to the worshippers. The inaugural ceremony was also attended by the Xatradhikar of Majuli Janardhan Dev Goswami and other religious leaders. A public meeting was also held where Bathou followers and Bathou Gurus (saints) from different places attended the function.

Talking to reporters, the president of Bathou (Shiva) Guru Committee, Tuleswar Narzary said the temple would encourage people to preserve forests and their resources along with the religion practice.

Ultapani situated deep inside the forest along the Bhutan border is for its flora and fauna surrounding it. There is also a famous water spring called as Na Bhander near it and the area is inhabited by the Bodos, Nepalis and Adivasis.
