New body of Jamuguri Xahitya Xabha formed at Bapuji Bhavan

TEZPUR: The annual general body meeting of Jamuguri Xahitya Xabha was held at Bapuji Bhavan of Jamugurihat on Friday.

The annual report was read out by Bikash Borah, secretary of the unit, while Dilip Baruah, auditor of the unit, read out the audit report and the house passed it unanimously. Thereafter, the general committee selected the new office bearers for the session 2020-22. The house unanimously selected Jyoti Bhattacharjya as the president of the new body, Promod Borah as vice-president, Basav Bhuyan as secretary and Krishna Talukdar as the assistant secretary.

The meeting also selected Jagat Saikia as treasurer and Dilip Baruah and Bipul Roy Bhuyan as auditors of the new committee. Later, the general body also formed an executive committee comprising several senior persons of the area. Urging all the office bearers of the new committee to be dedicated in carrying out their activities related to the newly-formed literary body, Nayan Saikia gave a speech from the president's chair. The house also passed several resolutions for the well-being of the unit.
