New Campus of Shalom Bible College Inaugurated At Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: The grand opening of the new campus of Shalom Bible College (SBC) under Lower Assam Baptist Union was held at LABU Campus, Kodomtola, Kokrajhar that is attached to the Kokrajhar Town Baptist Church, Kodomtola, Kokrajhar.

The SBC campus inauguration was done by Khiren Borgoary, former MLA and president of BCB, followed by hostel and college inauguration by Prosenjit Basumatary, president of LABU, and general secretary, BBCA, and Nobin Basumatary, president of BBCA.

Talking to reporters, Rev Ajit Basumatary, Principal of Shalom Bible College, Kokrajhar said that the Shalom Bible College was started on October 6, 1998 at Tukrajhar Mission compound with four students, Rimal Hajoary, Rinkang Basumatary, Philje Sangma and Roslyn Rabha and today as many as 54 students were pursuing their education in different courses and 25 new students were going to take admission in the new academic session.

Prosenjit Basumatary , president of LABU and general secretary of the BBCA (Boro Baptist Church Association) said that Shalom Bible College had been guided by the LABU and now the college had been shifted to the LABU’s campus in Kokrajhar.
