New committee of Udalguri district Nepali Sahitya Sabha takes charge

UDALGURI: The new committee of Udalguri district Nepali Sahitya Sabha took charge in a meeting held recently at Udalguri.

Puspadhar Bastola, the Principal of Udalguri Higher Secondary School, appealed to the new committee to work for the development of language and literature. He was delivering his speech as an appointed speaker on the occasion. Lakshman Adhikari took oath as president while Mohan Kumar Chhetry took oath as general secretary for a new term.

Gayatri Bhattarai, the outgoing president of the committee, chaired the meeting and Ram Upadhyaya, the general secretary, conducted the meeting. Rudra Baral, the general secretary of Assam Nepali Sahitya Sabha (ANSS), attended as a special guest. The conference of Udalguri branch of ANSS was also held simultaneously. Indira Gautam was selected as president, Dulumoni Upadhyaya as working president and Dhiraj Upadhyaya was selected as general secretary. Kalpana Chhetry, the outgoing president of Udalguri unit ANSS, chaired the meeting.
