TANGLA, April 3: Assam Trade and Commerce Minister Bimal Bora inaugurated a 15-bed intensive care unit (ICU) and a five-bed dialysis centre at the Udalguri civil hospital on Monday. Bimal Bora, who is also the guardian minister for Udalguri district, was here after the cabinet meeting last night at Paneri tea estate. The dialysis centre is a part of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Dialysis Programme, which is constructed as per the Public-Private Partnership (PPC), where Apollo Dialysis is a partner of the programme. The 15-bed ICU centre, constructed at a cost of Rs. 22 crore under Critical Care Project 2020, is believed to meet the demand for providing proper health care to the citizens.

The inaugural programme was attended by Deputy CEM BTR-cum-Udalguri MLA, Gobinda Chandra Basumatary, EM BTR, Dr. Nilut Swargiary, Udalguri DC, Dr. Sadnek Singh, Joint Director of Health Services, Udalguri District, and Dr. Bhubaneswar Swargiary, among others.
