DOOMDOOMA: The new office bearers of Rotary Club of Doomdooma for the Rotary year 2021-2022 assumed charge in its 41st installation ceremony held recently.

The District Secretary of Rotary International District 3240 (R.I. Dist 3240) Rotarian Monoj More who attended the function as Installation Officer (IO) installed the new team headed by Rotarian Mintu Upadhyay as president and Rotarian Bhupen Gohain as secretary. They took charge from outgoing president and outgoing secretary Rotarian Vikash Agarwal and Rotarian Mintu Upadhyay respectively.

In his speech, IO More highlighted various landmark projects undertaken by Rotary and urged the members of Doomdooma Rotary Club to undertake some socially relevant projects so as to translate this year's Rotary theme 'Serve to change lives' into reality. "For that you have to change yourselves first if you want to change the lives of others," he said.

In the beginning, outgoing president Rotarian Vikash Agarwal welcomed the guests while secretary Rotarian Mintu Upadhyay read out the Secretarial report for the year ended 2020-2021. Past president Rotarian Sujit Kumar Baruah gave an account of the progress of the hands-on training in Science and Mathematics project in six local schools undertaken by Doomdooma Rotary under global grant it received two years back. Another significant event of the installation ceremony was felicitation of past president of the club and past Assistant Governor (AG), Zone 12, Rotarian Dhiren Deka for being chosen for Journalists' Pension by the Assam Government this year, by R.I. Dist.3240 Secretary Manoj More on behalf of the club with a phulam gamosa, japi and a memento.
