Newly-constructed gate of Lakhimpur Commerce College inaugurated

LAKHIMPUR: The newly-constructed gate of Lakhimpur Commerce College at its second campus in Chukulibhariya in North Lakhimpur was inaugurated on Saturday.

The gate was inaugurated by Urmila Bordoloi, wife of Robin Bordoloi, the retired Vice Principal of the college whose family has donated it. An inaugural ceremony was organized for that occasion which was anchored by Professor Dipul Baruah, senior teacher of the college and attended by Dr Lohit Hazarika, the Principal, Gopal Chetry, the Vice Principal, teaching and non-teaching staff of the college, members of students union and family members of late Robin Bordoloi.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Lohit Hazarika expressed gratitude to the family members of Robin Bordoli for donating the gate to the college on the occasion of its golden jubilee celebration. Dr Jyotish Bordoloi, retired Associate Professor of Government College, Halflong and younger brother of Robin Bordoloi and alumnae of Lakhimpur Commerce College also spoke on the life and influence of his brother while paying glowing tributes to him on that occasion.

The meeting was also attended by Dr Debashish Bordoloi, Professor Bahnisikha Bordoloi, and others.
