Northeast Frontier Railway(NFR) to run two special trains between Dibrugarh & Howrah

Dibrugarh: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to run another two pairs of special trains, connecting Assam to West Bengal. These two pairs of the special train will run between Dibrugarh and Howrah to clear the extra rush of passengers. One of the trains will run via Guwahati, while the other will run via Bogibeel bridge.

One special train will run via Bogibeel Bridge, while the other will run via Guwahati.

An official statement said, "The Dibrugarh-Howrah Express Special (via Bogibeel) will run two days in a week leaving Dibrugarh at 11.55 pm on Thursday and Sunday with effect from December 27, 2020, and from Howrah at 6 pm on Monday and Friday with effect from December 28, 2020." The official statement was released on December 18.

The new trains from Dibrugarh to Howrah will run five days in a week, which will leave Dibrugarh at 6.40 pm on all days except on Thursday and Sunday with effect from December 26, 2020. The train will leave from Howrah at 6 pm on all days except on Monday and Friday with effect from December 29, 2020.

A new daily express special train will run between Silchar and Guwahati from December 24, 2020. The train will depart from Silchar station at 7.20 am, and return from Guwahati at 11.55 pm.

Earlier in October, NFR decided to operate four pairs of special trains for the benefit of the people of the Northeast region from next week. One bi-weekly AC special train between Dibrugarh – New Delhi – Dibrugarh via Bogibeel; another weekly AC special train between Dibrugarh – New Delhi – Dibrugarh; one weekly AC special train between Kamakhya – Yesvantpur – Kamakhya, and another weekly AC special train between Kamakhya – Lokmanya Tilak Terminus – Kamakhya.
