NFSA card holders allegedly receive plastic-type rice around Dongkamukam and Satgaon areas

DONGKAMUKAM: There was anger among BPL category NFSA card holders in and around Dongkamukam and Satgaon areas when they allegedly received plastic-type rice from a fair price shop dealer on Thursday.

The dealer was distributing the rice to card holders received from Rongkhang Lamps, Ghilani, Dongkamukam, West Karbi Anglong. Those who received the rice said that they had seen such type of rice for the first time. "The size is larger than normal rice and on chewing, it feels like plastic," said Punu Singh, a NFSA card holder. All card holders and also the people of the area have demanded the authorities concerned to investigate the matter and to punish the guilty.
