Nine tests COVID-19 positive at Jagiroad within last 24 hours

JAGIROAD: Jagiroad is likely to be a corona hotspot area. Detection of 9 corona positive persons within last 24 hours prevailed severe tension among the people. It is learnt that one Dipak Das working in Mayong Revenue Circle here was found COVID positive. It is also learnt that Das was in contact with many a persons in the office. On the other hand one Mrinal Devnath and his wife Pallabi Talukder were also tested COVID positive. They have twin babies who were also along with them. It is alleged that Mrinal was busy in his own shop till he was found positive. One contractual worker of Jagiroad civil hospital Jhuma Das of Nakhola gaon and one three-year-old child Sumriddhi Chakravarty were also found COVID positive. The family has no travel history. Another one Ikram Hussain of Nokhola grant was also detected COVID positive. Following this the Morigaon district administration and Jagiroad Development Authority have sanitized the area. The Jagiroad Development Authority on Sunday carried out a Clean Jagiroad mission and called upon one and all to keep the town clean. People here demand a strict lockdown to check wide contamination of the pandemic.
