NLPC takes resolution to carry on socially responsible journalism in 2022

North Lakhimpur Press Club, the common forum of the headquarter journalists of Lakhimpur district, representing various print and electronic media of the State, will carry on its socially responsible journalism in the upcoming new year 2022 too. LAKHIMPUR: North Lakhimpur Press Club, the common forum of the headquarter journalists of Lakhimpur district, representing various print and electronic media of the State, will carry on its socially responsible journalism in the upcoming new year 2022 too. Simultaneously, the club will play strong a role for the comprehensive amelioration and development of the district in the ensuing year.

The club took these new year pledges and resolutions in a programme held on New Year's Eve. The programme, which was held under the management of secretary Karuna Krishna Nath, commenced with president Kumud Baruah in the chair. In the programme, a detailed discussion was held on the plans and programmes of the club in the ensuing year. President Kumud Baruah, former president Sailen Baruah, secretary Karuna Krishna Nath, working president Dipen Borah, vice-president Kumud Saikia, assistant secretary Priyam Jyoti Phukan and other members of the club took part in the discussion. After the discussion, the club took a resolution to launch its own website in the upcoming year. Detailed records and information about various fields of the district in addition to the records and information about the NLPC and its activities will be available in the website. Further, the club adopted resolutions to set up a digital library in its premises, to initiate steps to organize programmes for the quality development of the journalist members, to launch a corpus-funds for the members and to check aggression of the Arunachali people in the inter-state border areas belonging to the district.

In the programme, a token of gift was extended from the club to each and every member on the occasion of the new year. Notably, the members of the NLPC have been playing a strong role in spearheading an intellectual movement in the district through their professional activities and other works thereby establishing a name in the State. The club has been efficiently reflecting the issues and problems of the district covering North Assam by playing a crucial role to bring change to the society.

The club has also introduced a unique trend in journalism while highlighting humanitarian and environmental issues. On the eve of the new year, the members of the club unanimously took resolution and vowed to keep the social responsibility continue through journalism and to play strong role against the threats to the society and the humanity. NLPC extended new year greetings to the people of the State.
