'No Drone Zone' declared near Lepetkata Plant and GDU Plant at Duliajan

DIBRUGARH: Dibrugarh district administration has declared a 2-km radius from the perimeter of the listed vital installations of the Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL), plant at Lepetkata and GDU Plant at Duliajan as 'no drone zone'.

After the request from the Chief Manager (Security) BCPL, the Dibrugarh district administration has declared 2-km radius from the perimeter of the listed vital installations of BCPL, plant at Lepetkata and GDU Plant at Duliajan as prohibited area for flying of Non-Conventional Aerial Objects/ Drones operations and any operation within the area will require explicit permission from authorities concerned. Any drone spotted operating near the airfield without prior clearance shall be destroyed as per MHA SOP and Drone Rules 2021.

"The area of around 2-km radius from perimeter of the listed vital installations of BCPL, plant at Lepetkata and GDU Plant at Duliajan will be treated as 'No Drone Zone' and a warning notice will be displayed around the perimeter walls of vital installations and sensitive areas," the press release stated.
