KOKRAJHAR: In the last round of electioneering campaign, Bodoland People's Front (BPF) president Hagrama Mohilary said that no party other than BPF would be able to form government in BTC. He said the BPF would come back to power for the fourth consecutive terms with absolute majority. He claimed that BPF would capture at least 18 seats in the first phase election in Udalguri and Baksa districts.

Mohilary on Tuesday attended election meetings in support of BPF candidates in Jalabila and Chitila. He attended meetings for BPF's Porbhotjhora candidate Moon Moon Brahma at Jalabila near Rupsi and at Chitila for independent candidate Raju Kr. Barman.

In the meeting, Mohilary said that both BJP and UPPL were not a factor for BPF as it was the only party in BTC that was faithful to the people. The BPF has fulfilled most of the promises to the people of BTC region and it was committed to work for equal development of all communities. He slammed ministerHimantaBiswaSarma for communal politics between tribal and non-tribal and said that Sarma could not win in the election battle in BTC and his aims in the council election would only yield negative result. He also said that although there were many corruption charges against Sarma, he was alleging corruption in the BTC without any proof.

Mohilary said that the Promod Boro-led United People's Party Liberal (UPPL), the Gana Suraksha Party (GSP) led by MP Naba Kr. Sarania and Congress were not a matter of concern for the BPF as it was a people's party and he expressed confidence that his party would emerge victorious in the BTC polls.
