Nobody Can Carry Out Eviction In Baghbar Till I Am Alive, Says MLA Sherman Ali

Guwahati: Controversial MLA Sherman Ali has dared the state government as well as the Barpeta district administration saying that nobody could carry out an eviction in his home constituency Baghbar.

"Nobody could evict you till I am alive. Almighty Allah will protect you", Ali was seen saying so in a video on Wednesday.

In the later part of the video, he was also seen saying that the BJP ruled the state for five years and they would rule the state for maximum fives more, adding,'' You should not fear. Nobody could evict you till I am alive."

He further assured his people that nobody could dare to evict them in his constituency.

Notably, the Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma-led government has been carrying out evictions in different part of the state since its formation at Dispur.

In the recent months, the government freed a huge tract of land from the encroachers in Darrang and the Lumding Reserve Forest.

Recently, the land revenue department of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) on Sunday carried out the third phase of eviction at Dudu Colony in Lahorijan.

The eviction was carried out at Block No 3 at Balijan in Lahorijan at Assam-Nagaland border.

According to reports, following the eviction, tensed situation prevailed in the area as locals protested against it.

Notably, in December last year, KAAC had carried out another round of eviction in the Dudu colony area of Lahorijan Block 3 under Borjan Mouza of Bokajan subdivision.
