Incomplete syllabus, stress over the ongoing pandemic scenario, students across Assam have unitedly protested against universities and colleges for conducting exams.

The students have joined the Twitter storm to protest against the decision and demanded the cancellation of final year and end semester exams in the midst of coronavirus outbreak and surge in active cases across the state.

The students are reacting on Twitter demanding the cancellation of final year and end semester exams.

It has been reported that the social media campaign started off after Dibrugarh University announced that it would be conducting the final year and final semester examinations for undergraduate and postgraduate students on September following the UGC guidelines that stated final year and end-semester exams should be conducted by the end of September, this year in online, offline or in a blended mode.

It is to be mentioned that the social media campaign began with the tags #NoExamInAssam #SayNoToUGCGuidelines with over 20k tweets.

However, Gauhati University has informed that the promotion for even semester regular students of all the Undergraduate and Post Graduate courses will be made on the basis of internal assessment as well as marks acquired in the previous semester examinations.

The University issued a notice on Tuesday stating, "For all courses of Under Graduate and Post Graduate Final semester examination will be held preferably in blended mode from the second week of September depending on the normalcy of the COVID-19 situation."
