LAKHIMPUR: North Lakhimpur Press Club (NLPC) commemorated its former president Nanda Kishor Maheswari on his 4th death anniversary on Friday.

Notably, Nanda Kishor Maheswari was the president of the NLPC from 2005 to 2012 for three consecutive sessions as an active working journalist. In addition, he was a prominent architect, stage and cine actor, dramatist, literary figure, efficient translator and a noted social activist who contributed much to Lakhimpur district. The commemoration programme began with the lighting of earthen lamp in front of the portrait of Nanda Kishor Maheswari by former NLPC president Surajit Bhuyan. The programme was held under the management of secretary Karuna Krishna Nath in the conference hall of the Press Club. The members of the NLPC and Lakhimpur district headquarter journalists commemorated the multifaceted personality by paying floral tribute with profound reverence to his portrait.
