LAKHIMPUR: The North Lakhimpur regional unit of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Parishad (AJYP), in association with Gharmora branch unit of the organization, distributed textbooks free of cost among the students who passed High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) exam this year.
On this occasion, the organization held a ceremonial programme in Gharmora Bor Xatra auditorium on Sunday. The programme commenced with Manoj Kalita, the president of the North Lakhimpur regional unit AJYP, in the chair. Assistant general secretary Bishal Das explained the objective of the programme wherein Lakhimpur district AJYP president Mobin Ahmed, Gharmora Xatra LP School headmistress Anjumoni Borah, teachers Hemanjali Bhuyan, Suruj Dutta, Hari Das, Tai Ahom Yuva Parishad former president Ajit Burhagohain, journalist Neel Pavan Sabhapandit were present as guests of honour. They delivered encouraging lectures addressing the students.
In the programme, textbooks were distributed among a total of 110 students. Moreover, 22 students who passed the HSLC exam by securing first division, distinction marks and star marks were felicitated with phulam gamosa in the same programme.
