LAKHIMPUR: North Lakhimpur Town Model High School, located at the mid-floor of the town, completed 30 years of its provincialization on Friday. The school celebrated the milestone by organizing a unique event.

In this connection, an all-religious prayer programme was organized in the school premises under the management of headmaster Mohan Kumar Das. In the programme, prayer was conducted by religious personalities from Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Christian and Sikh religions, praying for the well-being of the school, student community, faculty members and the society. The prayer programme was conducted by Gitacharya Purandar Baruah, Bhabani Jagat Singhji, Pranjit Sarmah and John Kerketa, Alhaz Moulana Nurul Islam, Bhakta Bahadur Lama, Tanka Bahadur Lama and Bhoj Bahadur Tamang.

Prior to this, a shradhanjali programme was organized paying tribute to three teachers of the school, viz— Dhiren Kumar Baruah, Anil Chandra Borgohain and Jonmai Gogoi who died during the post-provincialization period. Notably, the school, though, was established in 1981, it was provincialized on November 19, 1991.
