Northeast Frontier Railway to extend special train services

GUWAHATI: The Northeast Frontier (NF) Railway has decided to continue the service of Kamakhya-Sealdah-Kamakhya and New Jalpaiguri-Santragachi-New Jalpaiguri special trains for another five trips.

The special trains will continue its service from December 2 to December 31 next with existing timings, stoppages and composition. This additional service will help clearing extra rush of passengers, stated a press release.

Services of train No 03173 (Sealdah-Kamakhya) AC special will be extended to run on all Fridays from Deecmber 2 till December 30. The train leaves Sealdah at 11:50 pm to reach Kamakhya at 5:45 pm on next day. In return direction, services of train No 03174 (Kamakhya-Sealdah) AC special will be extended to run on all Saturdays from December 3 till December 31. The train leaves Kamakhya at 11:15 pm to reach Sealdah at 10:40 pm on the next day.

Moreover, services of train No 08047 (Santragachi-New Jalpaiguri) special will be extended to run on all Fridays from December 2 till December 30. The train leaves Santragachi at 6:00 pm to reach New Jalpaiguri at 5:15 am on next day. In the return direction, services of train No 08048 (New Jalpaiguri-Santragachi) special will be extended to run on all Saturdays from December 3 till December 31. The train leaves New Jalpaiguri at 12:15 pm to reach Santragachi at 11:45 pm on same day.

The services will fulfill the demand of waitlisted passengers of other Kolkata-bound trains as they will be able to undertake their journey comfortably with confirmed tickets.

The details of stoppages and timings of these trains are available at IRCTC website and are also being notified in various newspapers and social media platforms of NF Railway. Passengers have been requested to verify the details before undertaking their journey.

Cancellation of train for infrastructural development work: In order to carry out non-interlocking work at the Andal station of the Asansol division in Eastern Railway, services of Train No 15662 Kamakhya-Ranchi Express, scheduled to leave from Kamakhya on November 29 and train No 15661 Ranchi-Kamakhya Express, scheduled to leave from Ranchi on November 30, will be cancelled.
