Not forgetting his roots, IAS officer comes back home, helps his father in his Paan Shop

Sivasagar: Rahul Gupta, an IAS officer returned back to his native town, Sivasagar to help his father, who runs a paan shop. Rahul cleared his Union Public Civil Services (UPSC) exams in last year. His father, Omprakash Gupta runs a pan shop, Janata Paan Bhandar, in Sivasagar's Dolmukh Chariali.

Since the last few days, Rahul was seen in the paan shop, helping his ageing father. The locals of that area praised Rahul for generosity and kindness towards his father, who helped him become what he is today. Hi father, Omprakash has been running his paan shop since the last 50 years. It is only through this paan shop that he could make both of his sons educated and successful.

Rahul travelled to Delhi after his graduation and got admission into Jawaharlal Nehru University, India's premier educational institution. Rahul is currently the Deputy Commissioner of Sonitpur district, Assam.

Even after achieving so many good things in life, Rahul did not forget his roots. He came back to his hometown to help his father in his work, which has helped him in all of these years.

Rahul secured 286th position in last year's UPSC examination.
