Noted social worker Haricharan Boro of Bhatkuchi honoured

KOKRAJHAR: Various organizations of the Bodos of Rangia including Rangia district Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS), Kamrup district committee, ABSU, United Bodo People’s Organization (UBPO), Dularai Bathou Gouthum and Rangia district Tribal Sangha have honoured Harichandra Boro, a great social worker of Bhatkuchi, Rangia on Sunday. Haricharan Boro has been honoured with a title, “Thulungani Rafwdai”, the Angel of Inspiration, by the frontal Bodo organizations for his relentless and outstanding contributions to the society.

Four Bodo organizations including ABSU and BSS hosted a special meeting at Hardatta-Birdatta Bhavan, Bhatkuchi in Rangia on Sunday where Harichandra Boro was felicitated and honoured with a title, “Thulungani Rafwdai” for his contributions to society. The felicitation programme was chaired by the president of Rangia district BSS Madan Chadra Boro.

CEM of BTC Pramod Boro graced the programme as the chief guest while the Speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly Biswajit Daimary attended as the special guest. Besides, president of Assam Pradesh BJP and local MLA Bhabesh Kalita, former minister of Assam Thaneswar Boro, EM of BKWAC Pranab Boro, EM of BTC Pabitra Boro and general secretary of Dularai Bahtou Gouthum Ganesh Daimary also attended the open meeting as the guests of honour.

Meanwhile, former president of the BSS Taren Boro released a book, “Thulungani Rafwdai Haricharan Boro” written on the contributions of Boro. The president of Rangia district BSS Madan Chandra Boro, president of Kamrup district ABSU Rupam Boro, president of Kamrup district UBPO Gabinda Basumatary, president of Rangia district Tribal Sangha Khagen Daimary and president of Kamrup district Dularai Bathou Gouthum Khagen Dimary extended their gratitude to the people for their warm participation to make the programme a grand sucess.

On the other hand, the Chief Administrator of “Khontai Bibar” group, a platform of poets and writers, Dipen Boro extended his gratitude to great social worker Haricharan Boro and thanked the frontal Bodo organizations for honouring Haricharan with a deserving title.
