Noted social worker Kalyan Kumar Das passes away in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: A diligent social worker, often praised for his commitment, Kalyan Kumar Das passed away at his Chenikuthi, Guwahati residence on Wednesday, creating a void that can never be filled up. Das served in the Indian Red Cross Society and was one of the directors in Assam Chemical and Pharmaceutical pvt. Ltd. He was also an active member of Dipak Sangha, a cultural organisation in Guwahati. A true friend to many, he was much loved and respected for his philanthropic and kind-hearted nature. The mortal remains of Das were brought to the office premises of Assam Chemical and Pharmaceutical Pvt Ltd, and Deepak Sangha, where people paid their respects. He was cremated at the Nabagraha crematorium in the presence of hundreds of people. Das was 76 years of age at the time of his demise, and left behind his only son Tonmoy Kumar Das, a noted video editor, daughter-in-law and two grandsons.
