TINSUKIA: Leaving all theatre connoisseurs in deep sorrow, noted dramatist, stage actor, guitar player and theatre activist Aditya Gogoi of Tinsukia breathed his last at a private nursing home in Dibrugarh due to COVID-19 at the age of 48 years on Friday morning.
Born to a culturally enriched family, Gogoi, from an early age, joined in theatrical activism and carved a niche in the cultural arena in Tinsukia district. He was closely associated with Surjyamukhi Natya Gosthi. He was a regular bhaona performer in several namghars across Tinsukia district. At the time of his death, he was officiating as secretary of the Tinsukia branch of Asom Natya Sanmilan.
His demise was deeply mourned by Surjyamukhi Natya Gosthi, Asom Natya Sanmilan, Manikanchan Sanskriti Manch, Golap Chandra Rabi Chandra Natya Mandir Samiti, Kokoratuli Nambhar Samity, Gepapukhuri Unnayan Samiti, Kachujan Anchalik Mahila Samity and Tinsukia District Students' Union, besides others. He leaves behind his wife and two daughters.
