Noted writer Arun Kr. Borgoyary passes away in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: Noted writer and sports pensioner Arun Kr. Borgoyary, who was also the president of Kokrajhar Axam Xahitya Xabha, breathed his last on Friday at his Hadanpara residence in Kokrajhar town. Borgoyary was 83. He was suffering from prolonged ailment and was bed-ridden. He had lost his wife in the same month.

Borgoyary, who was born on August 1, 1937, at Nakargaon village under Dotma circle of Kokrajhar district, was involved with various democratic organizations. He has a number of books to his credit and was also closely associated with Dr Bhupen Hazarika. He received a number of awards from different institutions and organizations for his outstanding contribution in the field of literature, sports and culture. He was part of the first Bodo documentary film Daina and first Bodo feature film Alayaron. He was cremated in Kokrajhar as per the tradition of theBodos.
