Notorious drug peddler held in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: Dibrugarh police arrested a notorious drug peddler and seized 58 grams of suspected heroin from a shack near DTP Dyke in Dibrugarh on Friday.

The drug peddler has been identified as Salim Hussain alias Guddu. "We have detained him in connection with peddling of drugs. We got an input that he was carrying drugs along with him. We launched an operation near Dibrugarh DTP Dyke and arrested him," said Additional SP(HQ) Bitul Chetia.

He said, "We seized 58 grams suspected heroin from his possession which were kept in a shack. We have arrested him under NDPS Act."

"War against drugs will continue in Dibrugarh. So far, we have held many drug peddlers from Dibrugarh and seized huge quantity of contraband items from them," he added.
