NRC Seva Kendra gutted, DC Barnali Sharma orders inquiry in Silchar

Silchar: A mysterious fire, cause still unknown, gutted the NRC Seva Kendra 9 under sonai revenue circle of Cachar on Wednesday night. Following this, District Magistrate Barnali Sharma ordered a magisterial inquiry to be conducted by Rajiv Roy, ADC, to find out and ascertain the cause or causes leading to the incendiarism. He is to submit the report within a fortnight. Deputy Speaker, Aminul Haque Laskar, who represents Sonai constituency as an MLA, along with DC Barnali Sharma, ADC, A R Mazumder, Circle Officer of Sonai, Sudeep Nath and Additional Superintendent of Police, Jagadish Das visited the Seva Kendra to take stock of the situation.

Deputy Commissioner Barnali Sharma said the fire-raising incident would not affect the applicants as their papers and other relevant testimonials submitted at this Seva Kendra are saved as e documents in the server. She also said the NRC Seva Kendra would be reconstructed soon.
