NUMALIGARH: The NRL (Numaligarh Refinery Ltd) has been awarded the prestigious 'FAME International Award 2020-2021 for Excellence in Environment Management' in the 'Platinum' category for its sustained efforts towards environment management by adopting the best practices.
The award was presented by Kamalesh Kumar Pant, IAS – Hon'ble Principal Secretary (Science & Technology) cum Finance Commissioner to the Government of Himachal Pradesh and Chairman, HP State Pollution Control Board at the FAME National & International Summit and Award Ceremony on 29th July,2021 in Shimla in presence of Sudesh Kumar Mokhta; Director (Environmental Science & Technology) and Director (Revenue), Government. of Himachal Pradesh, D.D. Sharma, Chairman, 'FAME INDIA' and other dignitaries. The award comprising a citation and trophy was received by Kapil Medhi, Senior Manager, Technical Services (Env) , NRL.
'FAME INDIA' is a non-profit organization registered body of people of Indian origin. The organization's aim is to organize and conduct Award Ceremonies to recognize and honour individuals and organizations/associations for their outstanding contribution in the field of National Economic and Social Development and conduct public awareness programmes on social issues, women self-defense programme, women empowerment & education, environmental protection, plantation and other social activities, stated a press release.
