KOKRAJHAR: The National Service Scheme (NSS) of Central Institute of Technology (CIT), Kokrajhar joined hands with the rest of the nation in a massive drive on Swacchata launched by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, New Delhi. The main aim was to collect 1.5 kg of trash and plastics and dispose it safely in a proper place by every volunteer.

With this aim in mind, the NSS volunteers of CIT collected around 180 kg of trash and plastic in their hostels and CIT campus and disposed safely on Wednesday. With this action they spread the message on proper disposal of waste materials and created awareness among the society in the area. Single use plastic is hazardous which needs to be abolished completely and every citizen should know the proper use to disposal of garbage. The NSS volunteers are the best persons to spread awareness among the masses.
