NTPC celebrates women's inclusive role in society in Kokrajhar district

KOKRAJHAR: The week-long celebration highlighting the inclusive role of women in society concluded at NTPC-Bongaigaon at Salakati in Kokrajhar district. The event which started on March 8, concluded on Wednesday with various activities undertaken by the station's female employees and spouses of employees.

The event started with the motto of fitness first for women which consisted of a walkathon of more than 30 female employees and family members on the theme 'Break the Bias'. The event was marked by cake cutting and release of balloons. As a test of fitness, a friendly tug of war match and throw ball match was also organized for the day between NTPC female employees and female employees from medical department. The team from medical emerged winner.

An interactive lunch with the top management of NTPC-Bongaigaon headed by Subrata Mandal, ED, NTPC-Bongaigaon was organized for the female employees wherein Mandal appreciated the contribution of women in the field of work and also contributing to the larger goal of societal development. As a part of celebration, more than 50 women from nearby villages underwent a four-day training on enhancing entrepreneurship skills by Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, NTPC in association with Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat.
