LAKHIMPUR: A nutrition check-up camp, organized by Extension Services and Outreach Programme Cell and Internal Quality Assessment Cell (IQAC) of Lakhimpur Commerce College in collaboration with District Health Society (National Medical Mobile Unit-100), was held on Friday at its adopted village Borbill, North Lakhimpur.
Dr. Lohit Hazarika, Principal of the college, inaugurated the camp in the presence of faculty members, office staff, medical personnel and local villagers. Dr. Dadul Rajkonwar, Coordinator of IQAC of Lakhimpur Commerce College, explained the objective of the camp. Dr. Ayan Das, Medical Officer, North Lakhimpur attended the health check-up camp as service provider. Meghali Bordoloi, dietician and nutritionist of Laluk Model Hospital attended the camp and delivered a speech on the importance of proper uses of diet for the patients. A total of 175 villagers checked up their health at the camp and free drugs were distributed among them. The camp was coordinated by Professor Aban Chandra Barman and Professor Achyut Kumar Gogoi, conveners of Extension Services and Outreach Programme Cell of Lakhimpur Commerce College. Professors Deepjan Gohain and Binud Panging and accounts officer of the college Deepak Borbora also attended the programme.
