OBITUARY DEBA KATAKI

BISWANATH CHARIALI: Deba Kataki, a retired science teacher at Swahid Mukunda Kakati High School, Halem, passed away on Tuesday at his residence at Ghahigaon under Gohpur subdivision after a protracted illness. He was 75. The late Kataki also served as the general secretary of the Madhya Chaiduar branch of the Assam Science Society for a long time and was instrumental in popularizing science in the area.

He leaves behind his wife, two daughters, and a host of relatives. His death was widely mourned.
