OBITUARY: Social Activist Niru Saikia

Niru Saikia, a resident of Nagaon Uttar Haiborgaon and a noted social as well as religious activist breathed her last at a local hospital after a brief illness here. She was 89. She was involved in Srimanta Shankardev Sangha, Binapani Bihu Somitee for a long time. She was felicitated by Sodou Nagaon Bhugali Bihu Udjapon Somitee last year for her tremendous service towards the society. She leaves behind three sons, three daughters and a host of relatives. Her demise has cast a pall of gloom in the greater Uttar Haiborgaon area.
