Jagadish Chandra Das, a retired primary school teacher and leading social worker of Udalguri town breathed his last on August 26 at his residence after a prolonged old age ailment. He was 80. He was a pioneer of a Udalguri newspaper agency and he founded the agency way back in 1963 as Jeuti Chora. He was also the former president of Kendriya Udalguri Rongali Bihu celebration Samiti and a life member of Asom Sahitya Sabha. He leaves behind his wife, two sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and a host of relatives at the time of death. His death was widely mourned in Udalguri town.
