Office of NGO Kalanchupar inaugurated in Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR: Social worker and retired professor of Sibsagar College, Joysagar Monika Saikia inaugurated the office of an NGO named 'Kalanchupar' at Rudrasagar, Joysagar in Sivasagar recently.

In her speech during the inauguration ceremony, Saikia said that the people of Rudrasagar area had huge responsibility, not just in the maintenance of peace and tranquility, but also in the overall development of the area. In the meeting, held with president of the NGO, Anil Bora in the chair, Saikia urged to promote peace and harmony in the area through engagement of all sections of people of the society. She also stressed the importance of nurturing the youth properly to build a harmonious society and to become flag bearers of change. The programme, which began with lighting of the lamp by Gunaram Hazarika, was also attended by Superintendent of Taxes, Parul Das, BDO of Gaurisagar, representatives of various NGOs and locals.
