Oikya Sena Asom (OSA) Demands Stringent Action Against Corrupt Officials

GOLAGHAT: The Oikya Sena Asom (OSA) Golaghat district committee staged a protest in front of the dilapidated Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Mukoli Mancha and Udyan at Purabangla of Morangi on Monday demanding stringent action against the persons who were allegedly involved in corruption in its construction.

The Sentinel had published a new story on September 8 titled ‘Dr Bhupen Hazarika Mukoli Mancha and Udyan lies neglected’. The impact had a big impact as several local organizations and individuals expressed strong resentment over alleged anomalies that took place in the construction of the Dr Bhupen Hazarika Mukoli Mancha and Udyan. They demanded high-level enquiry into the matter.

On Monday, the activists of OSA of Golaghat district unit came out and staged protest. They shouted various slogans against the authority of Morangi Development Block. The OSA alleged involvement of officials of Morangi Development Block in corruption as a result of which the Dr Bhupen Hazarika Mukoli Mancha and Udyan was neglected. They further alleged that the officials had siphoned off a large chunk of the allotted fund.

The OSA has demanded stringent action against the corrupt officials. Later, a memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister through the Revenue Circle Officer of Morangi.
