DIBRUGARH : Oil India Ltd (OIL) signed an agreement of understanding with Mission Smile to support children born with cleft deformities from the districts of Dibrugarh and Tinsukia under OIL's CSR initiative.
An agreement of understanding was signed on March 28 by Dr Shantanu Baishya, Chief General Manager-Medical Services, OIL, and Dr Hiteshwar Sarma, Medical Director of Mission Smile in presence of Prasanta Borkakoty, Resident Chief Executive (RCE), OIL Duliajan, Dr Joyshree Das Verma-Trustee Mission Smile & Honorary Consul of Israel, NE India and other officials of both the organizations.
Under this agreement, cleft children of these two districts from Assam will be counseled and brought to Mission Smiles Guwahati Comprehensive Cleft Care Centre for complete treatment. Prasanta Borkakoty, RCE, OIL in his address during the event expressed the company's commitment to create a significant impact in the lives of children suffering from the cleft deformities under the ambit of the CSR initiative.
Expressing his satisfaction on the partnership, Conrad Dennis, COO Mission Smile, said in an official statement, "We are privileged to join hands with Oil India Ltd in our Mission to make the North East Cleft Free. It is supported by institutions like Oil India Ltd that these little ones are getting a new life that will change their future.
