GUWAHATI: With an aim to propagate the importance of fuel conservation and efficient energy utilization amongst the citizens of the nation, Oil Indian Limited (OIL) organized an event named Sanrakshan Kshamta Mahotsav 2020 at Guwahati on Sunday. As a part of the event, a walkathon titled ‘Saksham Fit India Walkathon’ was organized to create awareness among the people about fuel conservation, environment protection and promote the health usage of walking.
The event was flagged off from Shastri Maidan, Pipeline Headquarter, OIL, Narangi at 08:30 AM by Executive Director-Pipeline Services of OIL, Samir Kumar Das. The event was attended by many enthusiastic people of the city including school children, homemakers and elderly who believed in the cause. “This is a unique experience where we are promoting not only the cause of a Greener Planet but also a fit India. A healthy nation is a wealthy nation. So it is an emphasis on building a community that is aware of its fuel conservation responsibilities and holistically moving towards more environment-friendly habits”, said Samir Kumar Das. Joint Director and SRO of Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) Guwahati, and other senior officials of OIL were also present in the event.
