One arrested by Golaghat Police from Furkating area on charges of extortion

GOLAGHAT: On the basis of special input, Golaghat Police arrested a person from Furkating area under Golaghat police station on Tuesday on charge of extortion. The miscreant has been identified as Chenluk Doley, who is a resident of Bogoriguri of Sadia under Tinsukia district. As per police report, Chenluk Doley was demanding money from a businessman of Furkating. On Tuesday, he came to take the demanded money from the businessman. Getting information about the arrival of the miscreant, the Golaghat Police arrested him. Police further said that he had links with banned outfits NSCN (IM) and ULFA. He had also trained in the NSCN (IM) camp. He was uniting Mishing community youths to form a Mishing rebel outfit, said DSP Partha Protim Saikia.
