One arrested by Morigaon SP for posting ‘anti-Assamese’ comments on social media

JAGIROAD: The Superintendent of Police (SP) of Morigaon on Sunday arrested a local businessman, Kishore Dey for posting anti-Assamese comments on social media. Sources said that Kishore Dey posted communal message in connection with the Citizenship (Amendment) Act which evoked strong reaction among the people. The Jagiroad AASU along with some other organizations lodged FIR in Jagiroad PS and the man was arrested. However, following this, tension prevailed at Jagiroad. Police have urged people to maintain peace.
