RANGIA: Aswini Nath of Mukalmuwa under Nalbari district was killed when the boat in which seven persons, including Nath, were crossing the tributary of River Brahmaputra capsized on the river at Bamundi near Soalkuchi under Kamrup district. All six persons, except Nath, crossed the river by swimming and saved themselves. But Nath went missing in the water. Later, the body was recovered by the local people and rushed to the Soalkuchi FRU but the doctor declared him dead. Umesh Nath, the father-in-law of Aswini Nath, who was 80, died on Monday. Aswini Nath, including seven others, was going to take part in the cremation of Umesh Nath in the crematorium on the opposite bank of the river.
