One dies of COVID, 1,434 fresh COVID-19 cases in Sonitpur district

TEZPUR: One more person died due to COVID in Sonitpur district on Saturday during the third wave of COVID-19. Official sources said, COVID-19 positive Jugen Chandra Hazarika (63), resident of Bordubia, Tezpur died at Tezpur Medical College and Hospital. Altogether 1,434 tests were done across the district on Saturday out of which 1,310 were Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and 124 cases were from Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) and among the new fresh 194 positive cases found, 187 cases were from Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and 7 from Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR), sources said adding further that 9 patients were admitted to COVID Care Centres and 185 patients were under home isolation.

On Friday two persons lost their lives due to COVID-19 in Sonitpur district. They have been identified as Sandhya Saha (80), resident of Rangapara and Amiya Hazarika (75), resident of Cotton road Tezpur in Sonitpur district died at TMCH.
