TEZPUR: One more person died due to COVID-19 in the Sonitpur district on Tuesday. Official sources said that Dadul Haque (42), resident of Likhakgaon, Pithakhuwai died in Tezpur Medical College and Hospital, taking the death toll to 95 in the district during the second wave of the pandemic. Altogether 6,040 tests were done across the district on Tuesday, out of which 5,274 were RAT and rest RT-PCR, and among the new 289 positive cases detected, 266 cases were from RAT and 23 from RT-PCR.

Earlier, three persons lost their lives due to COVID-19 in the Sonitpur district on Monday. They have been identified as Pradip Kumar Sengupta (78), resident of Tezpur, Ranimai Daimari (38), resident of No. 1 Gerguajuli, Urohiloga, Rangapara, and Paneswari Kalondi (50), resident of Missamari in Sonitpur died at TMCH, taking the death toll to 93 in the district during the second wave of the pandemic.
