One drowns in Brahmaputra while taking holy dip on the occasion of Kartik Purnima

DIBRUGARH: One person died due to drowning in river Brahmaputra while taking holy dip on the occasion of Kartik Purnima in Dibrugarh on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Mithu Basfor (48). He was a resident of New Market Harijan coloney, Dibrugarh. Mantu Basfor was rescued by local and was rushed to AMCH for treatment. The Incident took place in the river bank near SP office in Dibrugarh.

"The body of Mithu Basfor was recovered from river Brahmaputra by SDRF team. He drowned in the river this morning while taking the holy dip on the occasion of Kartik Purnima," said Deepjyoti Hatikakoti, Dibrugarh district project officer of ASDMA.
