One held by Jorhat Police for forging Deputy Commissioner’s signature

JORHAT: For allegedly siphoning off an amount of Rs 77 lakh by forging the signature of Deputy Commissioner Roshni Aparanji Korati, a suspended employee of the Planning and Development branch of the DC’s office, identified as Dipak Kumar Borah, was arrested by a team of Jorhat Police on Sunday from Maharashtra and produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate court on Monday. He was remanded to 12 days police custody. He was booked under case no.3620/19 of Jorhat Sadar Police Station under section 12 (B), 409, 420, 419, 468 and police also recovered Rs 20 lakh cash from his Pokamura Bezgaon residence under Rowriah outpost, said Jorhat Superintendent of Police Jitmol Doley.
