One held for fishing inside Orang National Park and Tiger Reserve

MANGALDAI: The staff of Orang National Park and Tiger Reserve (ONPTR) on Sunday arrested one absconding smuggler on the charge of illegal fishing of endangered fish species 'Channa Barca' commonly known as 'Pipli Cheng or 'Garka Cheng' inside the Park. The arrested accused has been identified as one Mazit Ali of village Kachomari Nepali Gaon adjacent to ONPTR.

Few days back, the accused allegedly entered in to the Park and caught the endangered species of fish. However, he left his mobile phone on the spot and accordingly taking the clue from the recovered phone, the staff of the Park arrested him in connection with a case registered under Wildlife Protection Act.
