One person drowned in Sekati river of Bongaigaon district

BONGAIGAON: A person was drowned in the Sonakhuli area under Abhayapuri Police Station of Bongaigaon district on Friday evening. The victim has been identified as Yudhisthir Ray (45) from Sonakhuli. Talking to the mediapersons, one of the family members said that the victim slipped into the Sekati river while he was walking at its bank. "We, the villagers searched him but couldn't find trace him. Later the NDRF team arrived but could not start the search operation due to low light. On Saturday morning the NDRF personnel launched search operation but his body has not yet been recovered," a family member said.
