BISWANATH CHARIALI: Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the government proposed to create one sub-district in each constituency in Assam. Speaking at a party rally at the Circuit House field, here on Friday under Bharatiya Janata Party’s Maha Jan Sampark Abhiyan, the Chief Minister reiterated that two good things are going to be done for the people of Tezpur and Biswanath. That is, we will soon take up the task of setting up the Kanaklata State University at Gohpur. The concerned MLA has already taken up the task of identifying the land. A law will be enacted in the Assembly by this year, he added. On the other hand, the Government of India has invited tenders for preparing a DPR to start work on a tunnel connecting Gohpur-Numaligarh Kamargaon under the Brahmaputra river. The construction work will go ahead in a short span of time.

“With the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and God, we have given one lakh jobs. Not only one lakh jobs will be given, but 20,000-25,000 jobs per year,” Sarma observed on the issue of providing jobs to the youths of the state.

Stating that the BJP will remain in power for another 20 years, the Chief Minister called upon the MLAs to work for the benefit of the people.

Earlier, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma was present at Behali in Biswanath sub division to inaugurate three tea garden model schools on Thursday. Dr Sarma arrived at Kettela Tea Estate to inaugurate the first one. Then he proceeded to Jinjia to inaugurate the second model school set up in Jinjia Tea Garden. He also addressed a public meeting after the inauguration at Jinjia Tea Garden. In his speech, Sarma elaborated the developmental schemes being carried out by the state government. He also announced that there would be reservation in government jobs for tea garden youths. He also inaugurated Pabhoi Tea Estate Model School in Biswanath.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Minister Ashok Singhal, MP Pallab Lochan Das, MLAs Ranjit Dutta, Pramod Borthakur, Utpal Borah and others.
