Organizations demand justice for Santosh Hojai, stage sit-in protest in Dima Hasao

HAFLONG: Demanding immediate arrest of DSP Surya Kanta Morang, allegedly involved in the kidnapping and murder of Santosh Hojai, the All Dimasa Students' Union (ADSU), Dimasa Students' Union (DSU) and Dimasa Mothers' Association (DMA) staged 10-hour sit-in with hunger strike from 7 am to 5 pm on Tuesday in front of the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Dima Hasao.

Many people from various organizations took part in the protest along with the representatives of ADSU, DSU and DMA in solidarity. These organizations have been agitating for justice and also submitted memoranda to various authorities with demands like CBI enquiry into the brutal murder of Santosh Hojai, immediate arrest of DSP Surya Kanta Morang and other culprits for alleged involvement in the kidnapping and murder of Santosh Hojai and adequate compensation to the deceased Santosh Hojai's family with three minor children. Talking to mediapersons they said that they would continue their democratic and peaceful demonstration till the government fulfilled their demands.
