Over 90% area of Pobitora Wild Life Sanctuary affected by severe flood

JAGIROAD: More than 90 per cent area of Pobitora Wild Life Sanctuary in the district of Morigaon is being affected by severe flood. Following this the animals including the famous single horned rhinos are facing acute threat from the poachers. Sources said that the poachers are allegedly moving around the sanctuary in search of any loopholes on the part of the forest department. The animals following shortage of gazing area are coming outside the reserved area for foods which prevails tension among the forest officials. The local villagers have demanded the government to construct more high lands for safety and security of the animals.
